How to STEAL a stadium…

This is the story so far… Aeons ago a Council decide to build a sports stadium to play host to ‘The Friendly Games’ and encourage and develop sporting youth and improve community health.

Said ‘Games’ are a success.

Stadium goes on to host many national and international sporting events.
A diversity of sporting associations proliferate and the developed sporting talent goes on to local, national, international and world success.

So far so good.

But, more recently, the stadium is deliberately run down and the Local Authority reveal plans to sell-off the land to property developers.

They then demonstrate contempt for the wishes of the local community, who are overwhelmingly opposed to the sell-off, by persisting with the plan despite making a commitment to ensure that “communities are fully involved in decisions which affect them and [that] local democracy is enlarged”.

The stadium is Meadowbank, the city is Edinburgh … & STEAL are here to take the stadium for THE COMMON GOOD!
